| 3-Sail Toledo, Spain Damascene Ship 14K Gold Brooch: This lovely vintage damascene ship made in Toledo, Spain is marked "Spain." In great vintage condition, this is a must for the collector or as a gift that will say for many more generations, "Don't give up the ship!" Damascene patterns are obtained by engraving deep patterned cuts into steel, placing gold foil into the design lines and hammering the foil until the gold penetrates into the cuts. Each piece is treated with a bluing solution to oxidize and form the black background. All non-decorated areas are plated with 14 carat gold in this approximately 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" tall.
